“Hey, Jaejoong! Yah!” Junsu flapped his arms in front of Jaejoong's face. Jaejoong ignored his best friend and instead moved a little to the side. Junsu continued to wave his arms like a crazy duck.
All Jaejoong could hear was 'quack, quack, quack'. Junsu was getting irritated and a pout surfaced on his face. “Jaejoong, why are you ignoring me? Why?” He shouted dramatically. “WHY?”
“Ah, shut up, you duck-butt! I'm trying to stalk-I mean pay attention to our professor and his wonderful legs-I mean lecture.”
“You sound suspicious and I knew you were a perv all along.”
“That's not pervy. Looking at a private part is perverted, not his legs. I mean his lecture.”
“So you admit it!”
“I didn't admit anything!”
“Yes, you did. The legs are connected to a private part, so ha!”
“I wasn't staring at his legs or his private part. Shut up!”
Suddenly a deep husky voice pops out of nowhere and scares the two of them. “Sorry, am I interrupting your intellectual conversation about parts of the human body?” Jongwoon, the professor grinned and placed a hand on each of their shoulders. “You two, stay back today and help me clean the classroom as your punishment.”
As Professor Jongwoon walked away back to the front of the class, the other students were snickering and chuckling. Jaejoong on the other hand was blushing madly and smiling like an idiot.
“Why are you smiling, stupid? You got us detention!”
“You were the one being an annoying little ducky quacking all over the place!”
“Do you two want to stay tomorrow too and clean my car as well?” Jongwoon yet again interrupts them.
“No, sir!” Both squeaked in reply, but secretly Jaejoong wanted so much to say yes.
The lesson ended quickly with Junsu glaring at Jaejoong who gawking at their professor.
They were about to leave when Jongwoon stopped them. “Did you two forget about staying back? Come on, Junsu go get the broom from that closet and Jaejoong you can follow me.”
You could literally see the hearts fly out of Jaejoong's eyes. Junsu rolled his eyes and muttered something that sounded awfully like, “Love-sick idiot. Why do I have to get the broom?” As Junsu stormed off to the closet, Jaejoong followed Jongwoon like a lost puppy.
The two of them walked in silence until Jaejoong came back to reality and felt confused. “Where are we going, professor?”
“You're going to wash my car!” Jongwoon smiled widely and cheerily. “You'll help me right?” He blinked innocently and out of nowhere he handed Jaejoong a bucket filled with soapy water and a cloth.
Jaejoong stared mouth open and eyes unmoving, “Wh-where did you get all that from, professor?”
“Secret,” Jongwoon winked and mysteriously disappeared.
“Professor?”Jaejoong blinked and decided to try a different title, “Hyung?”
Jongwoon reappeared, head sticking out from behind a wall, “What did you just say?”
“Um, h-hyung?” Jaejoong offered.
“Oh, okay! Bye!” And yet again, Jongwoon magically vanished.
“I have no idea what you see in him, he's so weird!” Junsu was now the one to pop out of nowhere, appearing behind Jaejoong.
“He's not weird, just unique and special.” Jaejoong dreamily stated, thoughts wandering back to the center of attention in his eyes.
Junsu added, “Okay, fine, he's strange.”
“Hey! I wasn't done talking yet!” Jaejoong yelled.
“Well, sorry, you were spacing out.”
“He may be a little strange but he's a really nice and sweet person. Hyung is so good looking too and he's smart. I heard he used to win a lot of singing competition. They called him a singing prodigy. He won many awards too. Jongwoon-hyung is the man of my dreams and I'll get him no matter what it takes! I'll make him like me. Just wait, Junsu, you'll see.” Then carrying the bucket and holding the cloth, Jaejoong exited the building and started towards the parking lot.
“Wait, how do you even know which car is his?” Junsu shouted after him.
“I wouldn't fight a battle if I didn't know every step my opponent is going to make.”
“Uh, okay? I don't get what his car has to do with a battle and opponents, though, but alright. Good luck with that.”
Jaejoong merely shook his head in disapproval and sighed as he made his way into the teacher's parking lot, nearing a blue Lamborghini. He was about to place the bucket on the floor but froze when he caught sight of another person. More specifically it was a tall, lean man. Even more specifically, it was Jung Yunho, Jaejoong's high school sweetheart, his ex-boyfriend who dumped him without even mentioning a simple reason or a short explanation.
Yunho peered over his bag, which he was rummaging through, searching for his keys. They both stood still and it felt as if time stopped at the moment.
“Long time no see...Jaejoong.” Yunho forced a smile. “How are you?” There was an awkward silence between the two.
“Hi, Yunho. I'm doing fine. And you?” Jaejoong replied after a long pause.
“I'm okay. Um, what are you doing with that bucket? Is that your car?”
Jaejoong yet again paused before replying, “I'm going to help wash my uh, boyfriend's, uh car.”
Yunho tried his best not to show his shock and disbelief. “He has a new boyfriend already? I know it's nearly been three years, but how could he do this to me?”
“Cool. Who is he? He must be pretty damn rich. That car is a babe.”
The other had no idea what to say and quickly racked his brain for an answer. “Should I say hyung's name? Junsu's? Who?!”
“Jongwoon! His name is Jongwoon...” Jaejoong finally said with a sweet smile on his face. Just mentioning his crush's beautiful name made him swoon at it.
Yunho felt heartbroken and angry at the same time. Biting his lips, the younger man managed a convincing smile and blurted, “Yeah? I got myself a boyfriend too. His name is Changmin, Shim Changmin.”
“Well, I'm glad you moved on as well.”
“No I haven't.” Yunho thought but instead, he said, “Yeah, same here.”
“Um, so I've got to go and wash my boyfriend's car.” Jaejoong motioned towards the blue Lamborghini.
“Oh, right. See ya around.”
“Okay, bye.” Jaejoong busied himself with his cleaning.
As Yunho walked away, a sudden realization hit him. “Did I just tell Jaejoong that my boyfriend was Changmin? Crap, this is going to take some explaining later...Why did I have to go and make everything so much more complicated?”
Meanwhile, Junsu was sweeping left and right. Making little piles of dust and eraser shavings here and there, he neatly cleaned up the floor until he was semi-satisfied with himself. He proudly walked over to Jongwoon who was reading a book at his desk.
“Professor, I finished—”
“Good, you can wipe the tops of the desks then.” Jongwoon slid a container of Lysol disinfectant wipes across the top of his desk to Junsu without even looking up from his book
“Do I hear complaining?”
“No, sir.” Junsu replied glumly as he set the broom off the the side and picked up the Lysol so he could start disinfecting the tables.
While he was wiping the desk tops, he was also quietly murmuring to himself.
“Stupid Jaejoong. Why do I even put up with you? It's always Jongwoon this and Jongwoon that with that guy. What about me? I'm his best friend for crying out loud! Junsu wants some love too!” Junsu grumbled and furiously scrubbed away.
“Wow, that's sparkling clean!” Jongwoon exclaimed when Junsu finished, “Though you could have done a better job sweeping the floor. Oh! And look here! I assume you've finished as well then?”
Jaejoong had stumbled in coincidentally, looking tired, exhausted, and smelling of soap.
“Okay! Good job, boys. You can go home now.” Jongwoon waved them off, put away his book, and left.
“Seriously,” Junsu gave Jaejoong a defeated look, “What do you see in him, really?” Junsu sure liked to mumble to himself. “I know he's sort of cute and hot at the same time and is really nice and his voice sounds heavenly and angelic and oh so sexy but-gosh, what the hell am I saying...”
But, of course, Jaejoong was put in a trance for the nth time, staring dreamily at the door Jongwoon had left from. Even if he had listened a tiny bit all he heard was 'quack, quack, quack, quack, quack' much to Junsu's annoyance.
“Hello! Earth to Jaejoong?”
“Hm? Oh yeah, I met my ex-boyfriend while I was cleaning Professor Jongwoon's car.” Jaejoong sighed, still in dreamland.
“Eh? You mean Yunho?” Junsu curiously tilted his head to one side.
“Yeah, he said he has a boyfriend now. Shim Changmin, I think.”
“Changmin?”Junsu looked thoughtful.
“Yeah...” Jaejoong finally started to pay attention, “Why? You sound like you know him.”
“Remember my adorable little neighbor Shim Changmin?”
“Yeah, I think. The snarky, sarcastic kid, right? He pissed me off sometimes, but he's a good kid. He's one smartass with some talent for music. Oh, and he's pretty cute, don't you think? He especially liked sticking around your brother. Junho loved the kid. Hm, whatever. My true love is Jongwoon anyways.”
”Yeah, hyung and Changmin got along really well and I'm the one who's the same age as him! Aish, who knows. Maybe it's a different Changmin. Anyways! Why are we just sitting here like dead ducks? Let's a-go!” Junsu hopped excitedly towards the door.
Jaejoong laughed and followed his best friend out.
After seeing Jaejoong again after such a long and difficult time, Yunho drove back to the dorms in low spirits thinking about his ex-boyfriend the whole way.
“He has a new boyfriend already, Jung Yunho. Forget about him. You were the one who wanted to break it off in the first place.” Yunho was about to tear his hair out from his pent up frustrations.
“You're back!” Changmin greeted his dorm mate cheerily when Yunho entered their dorm. “I'm making cup noodles! Want one? I have chicken flavored ones. Wait, do you want beef flavored? If you don't want cup noodles, we could order some Chinese food.”
Yunho moodily dropped his bag onto the floor and slumped onto his bed across from Changmin.
“Why are you PMSing on me? We don't have any pads left from the last time you were PMSing,” Changmin blabbered, “I met these two cute guys. Are you even listening to me?”
Changmin sighed, “If you're going to be emo, you don't get any cup noodles from me.” Changmin lifted the curly noodles with his chopsticks and waved it in front of Yunho's face. The squiggly noodles hit Yunho in the face.
Yunho yelped, “Yah! Watch where you wave that thing! Is that chicken flavored? Actually I want beef. No! I'm depressed so I'll eat junk food.”
“No! It'll go to your waist!”
“I don't care if it goes to my waist!”
“But the food is mine! And you're a dancer. You'll be chunky and who would want to hire you then, Mr. Double Chin?”
“Ah, shut up! Go suffocate yourself or something.”
“That's mean, Yunnie,” Changmin pouted in a teasing manner.
“Leave me alone, Changmin. Let me be depressed.”
“Eat and I'll leave you alone.”
“No! I don't want to—erwahurick!” Yunho was cut off when Changmin shoved some noodle into the other's mouth.
“Eat some more. It's good for you,” Changmin chortled cheerfully.
“It's not good for you! It's fat and bad and-and stuff!” Yunho countered after he finished his mouthful of noodles.
Changmin shook his head at his dorm mate and sat on the edge of his own bed. “Well, what exactly happened that made you so down, huh? Wanna talk about it? It's not good to keep everything inside. Not that I'm saying I want you to blow up on me or shit like that. So, how was your day?”
Yunho groaned and put his hands on his face, rubbing at his temple. “I don't want to talk about anything, Changmin. Leave me the hell alone.”
“Come on, Yunnie, let's talk. I'm bored.”
“Do you only think about yourself all the time, you damn selfish jackass!? If you're so fucking bored then go play with yourself!” Yunho roared and failed at trying to contain his anger.
“That's not very nice, and neither are you, bub.” Changmin spat out and dumped his cup noodles in the trash can. “Now my mood is ruined thanks to you, dipshit.”
“Why can't you ever just shut your fucking trap?! You and I are just roommates okay so stop always bothering me and asking me stuff that has nothing to do with you. Mind your own damn business, alright? God, I can't even have some peace and quiet for once in this stupid room!”
Changmin just stared at his roommate with sad eyes, which Yunho couldn't see, before scoffing, “Well, too bad. We're stuck with each other and it's not like I give a shit about you and your slutty-ass ex! You're always complaining and whining about that Jaejoong guy. You dumped him so get over it already and stop raging and raving whenever you come back to this fucking room, alright?”
“What did you just fucking say?!” Yunho heard nothing but the words slutty-ass ex and the words swirled in his mind, repeating over and over again. He doesn't know why, but the anger rose even higher and his eyes flared, his temper about to detonate. “Say that again, I dare you!”
By that time, Yunho had risen up from his seat on his bed and his eyes burned holes through Changmin.
“I said, stop complaining to me about your fucking-slutty-ass-ex, you hear me, Jung Yunho!”
Then what Changmin could never predict happened. He never saw it coming when Yunho roughly and violently shoved him against the plastered wooden wall.
Changmin hissed as he felt his head collide with the hard surface of the wall. He felt a sharp sensation in his back and shoulders. Unconsciously he had screamed out in pain.
“Now you listen to me, Shim Changmin, you are just a good for nothing rat-ass kid! You take your nose out of my fucking business and stay the hell away from me! I've had enough of this crap. You're a fucking pain in the ass and you have no right to talk about my ex like that! You don't even know him, okay? Take a good look in the mirror before calling others a slut, you man-whore! Why don't you just leave and go get your petty little ass banged up? Now, wouldn't you like that.”
Changmin bit his lips, ignored the pain he felt physically and gripped onto the pain he felt emotionally and mentally. “Is that really how you think of me, Jung Yunho? So I'm a man-whore, huh? Fine, whatever. I'll go get myself laid, if that makes you feel any better!”
Tears brimmed at the tip of his eyes, but he used all of his will to delay them from rolling out of his eyes as he pushed Yunho's heavy weight off of his body and out of the way.
Changmin ran as fast as he could slamming the door loudly.
Yunho shouted after him expecting the other to not hear it, but ironically Changmin heard it. He heard everything, every last word, and the tears flooded his pale cheeks.
Yunho had said, “Don't get laid, get raped you bastard!”
